Soundtrack mood: I See Fire – Ed Sheeran

I read this book completely blind, with no clue what things were about, and was certainly taken for a wild ride. Essentially, Camden was adopted by a rich family, who he left behind following the matriarch Ruby’s death. He is now returning home to the manor/ scene of his childhood. Weaved in is the matriarch herself, whose letters tell us the story of her life. My biggest struggle was waiting for the action to start happening. Additionally, I felt the character of Libby was completely useless. The twists at the end were unexpected (for me, at least), and Hawkins kept me on my toes to the end. I pictured this house as run-down, creepy Biltmore.
