When I started this book, I had absolutely no idea what was happening, and then suddenly, I realized I was being blown away. I cannot stop thinking about this masterpiece of a book for months. We get several perspectives (5) across 3 timelines (1400s, present era, and the future) that interweave into a beautiful and heart-wrenching story of the power of the stories we tell, the people, and how those stories get handed down for generations. I love interweaving stories and Doerr more than delivers. He easily slides you through centuries and around the globe, leaving you wanting to see where each story goes. If you love books and stories and how they can lift us and connect us to the past this book is for you. OBSESSED. The end.
